The 1950’s was an era of femininity and fun.
Women embraced their curves, and skinny just was not cool. Figure hugging dresses accentuated our voluptuous silhouettes, and the style was girlish – but glamorous.
Swing skirts, roller skates, and Buddy Holly were all ‘top of the hit parade’ – and so too were the entirely fabulous cats eye glasses.
Marilyn Munroe made them fabulous, and their vintage vixen appeal has remained to this day.
I think they are magnificent, and have long yearned for a pair of my own. Although I have not yet acquired the visual variety, I have a new addition to our ScarfRing.Com family which has temporarily filled the void.
This spectacular scarf ring has cats eye glasses attached to the front, and for me it was love at first sight. They are unusual, quirky, and ooze vintage retro chic – all the aspects which encapsulate the perfect statement accessory.
Today I decided to try out the new scarf ring, to accent my scarf whilst Sunday strolling through the park.
I took a few moments to perch on a bench, and a gorgeous little old lady complimented me on it. I discovered she had once owned a pair of cats eye glasses too, and I knew straight away that she would have looked stunning in them, just like Marilyn…and that put a skip in my step.
