Whilst my fellow village dwellers and I are burring, chattering and shivering our way into the spout of winter’s seemingly infinite chasm, our fortunate friends in the Northern Hemisphere are warmly wafting their bare skinned bodies into summer’s welcoming embrace. Sigh.
And so, as my ice cold digits (currently clothed in finger-less gloves) tap furiously at my keyboard, accompanied by a harmonious heater humming at my feet, I am plagued with the magical thought of being enveloped by the sun.
I have decided to share something with all the beautiful people who are experiencing such bliss right now – after all, our time will come, and with the utmost appreciation!
If you live in the Northern hemisphere, this little gem is for you.
Rather than splashing out on a new addition to your wardrobe for your next soirée, you can create a fabulous halter neck top simply by using a scarf.
Select a scarf with interesting prints or colours, for a chic summery look. If you have a vintage Hermès tucked away then now is the time to dust it off!
Fold your scarf into a triangle, and tie the two sides of the top of the triangle around your neck. Finally, tie the tail ends around your waist – and viola!
For an added twist, secure the ends with a scarf ring. This will show off a flash of contemporary metal – sleek and sophisticated!
There is no such thing as a wardrobe malfunction when you have a scarf – so please enjoy this chic scarf tip, and all the fruits of summer.
