“That time of year thou mayst in me behold” – William Shakespeare
Autumn colours have long been a source of inspiration for musicians, artists and poets alike. There is a cool crisp bite in the air which invigorates the senses, and helps to awaken the inner creative genius in us all. Fashion too has fallen victim to the seasonal spell, which I brazenly embrace every year. Rich mahogany knits, hues of earthy green, leaf crunching boots, and rose-pink cheeks, are just a few of the delicious things I love about the understated innocence of Autumn style.
Hosting a dinner party with friends is an excellent idea, before thence transforming into winter hermits and the ‘hunkering down’ period.
Last night we indulged in succulent roast beef accompanied by green vegetables from the garden, red wine and a house full of laughter. In retrospect there was a strong autumn influence in the meal, thus confirming that I have been undeniably bewitched by this time of year.
